Dental Hygiene?

Whats the difference between having a Associate's or a Bachelor's for dental hygeine besides the number of years for schooling?

Do having one over the other mean more pay or are they the same and I should only go for two years?

Average salary????

Dental Hygiene?
i didn't know there was such an option. Around here, all the Dental Hygienist training is a 2year associate degree. I don't exactly understand what more you would learn in 2 additional years. It seems like it would be a choice of dental assistant, hygienist, dentist, with salaries increasing with the training. Hope this is helpful, %26amp; thanks for the question--I learned something.
Reply:i've been a d. hygienist for 10 yrs. i can't answer about if you get a bachelor degree then go to 2 yrs of hygiene school, or how all that plays out, i can tell you there is no difference in how much you make with ***. or bachelor degree. i've never had a employer inquire on what degree i have. i don't think it makes much difference, if you want to be the best at what you do i don't think it matters the degree you have but has to do with you're level of continued education in the hygiene field and stuff or try getting imployed with a advanced team of health care profesionals, interview the type of business you would want to go to work for, we are in big demand and i wouldn't waste time going for a bachelors degree though you are close to ending up with one after all prerequisits required for entering into a program are complete
Reply:I have 2 friends who are dental hygienists. One has an associate's degree and one has a bachelor's. They make the same amount of money. It's like nursing, a bachelor's doesn't earn you any more money. It only benefits you if you want to go in to management. Most dentists only hire hygienists on a part time basis, which means no benefits.
