Do I have a case to sue my dentist?

I keep regular 6 month appointments. My dentist said he would keep an eye on one spot of decay. That was eight months ago. I went to a new dr. who showed me the latest x-rays. I need four root canals, along w/crowns associated w/those procedures.


In addition, the former Felton, CA dentist patched a crown. The result: alignment is impossible with the gum line. His fillings allowed for decay.


The ear ache and pain in my jaw accompany a low grade fever. My personal astonishment aside, I am not a drug addict (evidenced by the fact that, periodontally, my teeth look excellent), never haggled over finances for dental work, kept--albeit nervously--every cleaning and dental work appointment. People are telling me this is negligence. But that is a hard enough thing to prove with serious injury via a doctor's ineptitude.One dentist says the Felton man misdiagnosed, and that is not negligence.


I have never heard of anyone in need of four root canals+ after "all is well," 8 mos. prior.

Do I have a case to sue my dentist?
So, why do you think your new dentist is correct with his diagnosis? You really need a third opinion to straighten this mess out.
Reply:Go to a free legal clinic. There is a few police I'd like to have charge. Could end up in a big money problem. Like O.J.vs. Texas.


He almost broke the state.
Reply:It is debatable whether you have a case. These types of cases are hard to prove. You basically need another dentist, preferably a specialist in their field, to come to court and say that but for the first dentist's negligence you would not have needed root canals etc.
