What are some good careers that pay decent (like $14+ per hour) with schooling that is a year or less?

My husband is in the army and will be going to Korea for a one year unaccompanied tour. I'd really like to have a career by the time he gets home, but don't want to go to school for something with no job opportunites or wages that are less than what I need. Any suggestions?

P.S. I'm not looking for a shortcut... I still plan to go to school for my Associates in Dental Hygiene, but I want to wait until my husband isn't active duty.

Labouring jobs like cleaning.gardening . ETC.
Reply:Congrats to you! and THANK your husband for serving his country for me! I'd look at www.lmi.gov (Labor Market Information) and check out what your state's outlook is. (That website will give you so much information!) You can also find out nearby schools that offer what you want to do. There are many programs out there that you can take from different schools. Possibly talk to a counselor at one. Good luck!
