I have really bad abdominal pain prior to using the bathroom, as well as mucous in my stool along with?
mucus in stool can be irritable bowel syndrome. depending on your insurance, i would try to see an specialist in internal medicine.
Reply:You may have colitis. A gastro-intestinal specialist should be consulted.
Reply:You need to see a Gastroenterologist. You may have to be
referred to one by your primary care physician, if your
insurance requires it.
It may be just an infection or something more serious.
Here is a site that tells about irritable bowel disease;

Here is a wonderful site which will let you look through
all the other conditions that may involve your symptoms
and also see how they do an endoscopy and colonoscopy to
determine the cause. When they do these procedures,
you can ask to be sedated and you won't know anything
until it is over. The person performing the scopy procedure
can show you a picture of what your insides look like when
they find out the cause, right after the procedure is over.
