I am thinking about attending a school where a Dental Assisting diploma is offered but you can take more classes to earn An Associates of Applied Science Degree in Dental Assisting. Does this earn a little more money?
How much does someone with an AAS Degree in Dental Assisting make?
Entry-level pay is different all over the country. You may have an 'in' since you will have received your associates degree, but you'll have to 'prove' what you learned/know to your boss... then it'll be smooth sailing from there!
Go to www.danb.org and check to see what requirements are necessary in your state to be a DA... some states prefer licensure, some prefer certification, and some simply take those 'off the street' for OTJ training...
Best of luck to you!
:)
