I am going to school for a dental hygentist, should I get an associate or a bachelor degree?

From the information I have been reading all you need is an associate to be a hygentist. Maybe I should go be a dentist.

I have an Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene, and I get paid VERY well (but please don't think that I'm bragging).

I don't think getting a bachelor's degree will necessarily make you more money.

Most hygienists have associate's degree and are perfectly happy.

Some people get their Bachelor's degree so they can eventually teach dental hygiene classes at colleges.

Really, it comes down to what your preference (or financial situation) is.

Hope this helps.
Reply:You cannot be a dentist with just a bachelors degree. To be a dentist you need 4 years of college and then you have to go to dental school after that.
Reply:Higher is better, but paying bills and having money right now helps too, do what's best for you in the long run
Reply:If finances are an issue, start out with the associates, get a job, and then work on the bachelor's. Most dentist's offices should probably help with the financial part of continuing your education (or at least, that's what I've heard). If finances aren't an issue, do everything all at once. Then you don't have to worry about it later. :-)

Good luck! :-)
